Being Green Isn't Easy..

.. but it clearly makes the world cleaner and safer. This month I noticed a growing trend in articles throughout different magazine; the mention on how we as a society can do our part by being green. Although there are many bloggers out there who seem to care about doing there part and being green, I am a blogger who is going to help you become more green. By doing the following, you will increase the life span of our precious earth:

1. Think outside the box and recycle more than just your average paper, plastic, aluminum, and glass. Now adays recycling your clothing or something as simple as an ink cartrige, can help reduce CO2 emissions by tons.

2. Sign Up for online banking: If every american did this we would save over 2.3 million tons of wood each year.

3. SHOP ONLINE! yes you heard me all you hermits inside who ADORE shopping in the comfort of your jammies continue to do what you do best. Every minute you spend in the car uses 10 times the energy of doing the same of shopping online.

4. Buy local ANYTHING: if things are made local that just means there is no transportation issue that emits gases into the atmosphere.

5. Switch to green power: this doesnt mean buying a windmill and setting it up in the back. All you need to do is find an alternative energy source like solar.

6. SLOW down on the road. if we stop weaving and speeding we could improve fuel efficiency by over 30 percent.

7. Pick up something vintage: reuse and recycle my friends.

8. Skip meat once a week, this reduces the amounts of pesticides and fertilizer used to feed the animals on the grass and the grain.

9. Switch to rechargeable batteries: less batteries in the landfill baby.

10. BUY MAKE-UP YOU CAN REFILL- the packaging in the makeup world adds to endless bottles in todays landfills. Mainstream make up labels like stila, bobbi brown, and aveda all offer this beneficial option.

All tips and tricks are made possible by the April issue of Glamour.

GO GREEN!,

Current Fashion Photographer Obession

Ruven Afanador. His photos are honestly so riveting and fierce. I believe it has to do with the tones and colors of the photos, the outfits, or the mere location. Each photo evokes a sense of inspiration to the name of fashion. Whether the photo is simple ( see 6th,10th and12th photo down), or whether it's complicated with an assembly of outfits or makeup ( see 2nd, 3rd, 11th photo down) each photo brings in a new idea. These photos are the reason I love fashion. With Love, Ava

Fall Ready-To-Wear part deux

1. Here we see the floral that is oh so popular this spring season used on the fall runway. Personally, i think it works out well and i can see anybody wearing this down the streets anywhere. The blue tights pull everything together. Way to go Erin Fetherston.

2. Jill Stuart delivered with this amazing beauty of a dress paired off with a sophisticated pair of boots. The fur brings it all together with a nice put together look that can be worn in the day time with a nice coat over it and during the evening with a simple pair of pumps.

3. Since i am not usually a fan of Karen Walker, I didnt really expect much from her collection, but i found this gem in it. It has a modern retro vibe with the whole glasses and beanie get up. The tights and the dress also compliment each other very nicely.

4. Lanvin had a fantastic showing with this look being the top notch i was looking for. It probably was the most amazing outfit I saw in all of fashion week. The look is just so dream like and just the right amount of everything. BEAUTIFUL.

Fall Ready-To-Wear 2008

As I was scowering the web for all things fall, I landed somewhere short of my expectations. Do not get me wrong, i fell in love with a bunch of looks, but i found some designers to have delivered performances short of brilliant, like my main man Marc Jacobs in his Marc Jacobs line. Very dowdy and matronal in my opinion. I wish Chanel would spark my interest once again but it looks like the same old same old over and over again. However, there were a few gems among all the dirt.

1. 3.1 Phillip Lim brought out all the stops for his looks on the fall runway. With the electric blue high waisted, slouchy pants to the menswear esque sweater, he added the right amount of elegance with the everyday street style that i desperately yearn for.

2. Alexander Wang literally went to the streets for his urban decay look. The ripped tights complete the 'just got out of bed' look with no effort at all. The zipper boots are amazing as well.

3. Anna Sui picked up my number one spot with her hippie chic style and showed that her expertise is her complete attention to detail. The tights in all of her looks made everything look so chic and simple.

4. I was actually really impressed with BCBG Max Azaria on the runway. It made me want to get out of my computer chair and SPRINT to the closest store and pick up everything they had. And for some odd reason it really made me want to read Catcher in the Rye.

6. Chloe just about made my day. It is really funny because my friend Viv is basically the whole idea of the Chloe look. Its very simply put with not a lot of detail and its loose and slouchy because of the whole hippie feel.
